Wage: $20.75 / hour
The season at Rocky Mountain National Park runs from approximately mid-May until mid-October. All positions at Rocky Mountain are full-time seasonal positions, there are NO full-time year-round positions.
Job Summary:
Assist guests in a courteous and knowledgeable manner, answering questions regarding the park and Food & Beverage options. Oversee training, supervising, and support of the F&B department.

Responsibilities
- Perform all duties with respect to the Company’s Core Values, Mission Statement, and guest services standards.
- Establish and maintain the overall tone of the operation by communicating specific expectations to the Food & Beverage supervisory team, and all employees.
- Ensure the highest standards of restaurant service are met for the guests, the company, and the National Park Service.
- Passion for providing quality food service and guest satisfaction.

- Ability to lead by example, working along-side staff. Inspire and coach personnel in a diverse age range and experience.
- Delegate tasks while leading by example.
- Managing all employees, training, and scheduling.
- Motivate all staff members to maximize sales by suggestive add on items and upselling techniques.
- Maintain established standards of sanitation throughout the operation.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the dining and service areas.
- Enforce HACCP food sanitation program for entire facility.
- Maintain temperature logs as required; regularly take temperatures of food items to ensure they are not in the Temperature Danger Zone.
- Work closely with the EDR supervisor to ensure proper delivery of orders, and prep work for the café is completed as scheduled.
- Give instruction and help with loading box truck on a daily basis.
- Work closely with the warehouse supervisor, EDR staff, and general manager, ensuring ordered food from Sysco and local vendors is accurate, and on schedule.
- Help maintain budgeted food cost by portion control, utilizing leftovers, controlling waste, adjusting par values to meet business levels, and working with crew.
- Monitoring FIFO (First In-First Out) making sure each item is properly labeled.
- Adhere to and enforce all food safety requirements and train all employees in ServSafe protocol.
- Have knowledge of all menu items and specifications, knowing correct food preparation procedures, recipes, and portion controls are in use and being followed.
- Perform an accurate inventory on all food and beverage items at the end of every fiscal month.
- Ensure all employees receive appropriate training for their position and that training is documented appropriately.
- Maintain uniform and appearance standards.
- Ensure all schedules for each week are checked and posted at least two weeks prior to the start of the new schedule.
- Ensure appropriate management coverage for shifts. Cover floor management shifts as needed.
- Actively cross-train and retrain staff members throughout the season to ensure consistency in all areas.
- Ensure all employees receive informal feedback from their supervisor on a regular basis and written evaluations, periodically.
- Handle guest service issues immediately and in a professional manner.
- Responsible for the secure handling and balancing of all assigned cash banks.
- Ensure every employee is unassigned from their drawer before they depart at the end of their shift.
- Maintain a cooperative working relationship with general manager and other location department managers.
- Alert general manager to shrinkage, guest problems and concerns, and employee issues.
- Open and close the guest service facilities on time every day.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform duties outside the job classification assigned by management along with any other responsibilities deemed necessary.
- This is a non-tipped position.

- Previous restaurant supervisory and/or management experience essential.
- Must be ServSafe Certified.
- Must have knowledge of HACCP.
- Must understand and enforce FIFO (First In-First Out) procedures.
- Working knowledge of all positions supervised.
- Working knowledge of all equipment used within the food and beverage operation.
- Ability to analyze and react to budgetary situations.
- Ability to creatively problem solve and select a course of action.
- Ability to teach and motivate employees and supervisors to accomplish goals.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload and follow-up with specific timelines.
- Ability to communicate in a positive, efficient manner, and hold individuals accountable for their responsibilities.
- Must be able to foster cooperation among a diverse workforce. Work well with all staff members.
- Demonstrate excellent sales approach and skills.
- Must be able to remain calm in a high stress environment.
- Must possess a non-CDL, valid driver’s license, and a clean record.
Physical Requirements
- Candidate must be able to work at an altitude of 12,000 feet.
- Ability to stand/walk for a minimum eight to ten hour shift.
- Frequently lift and carry cartons weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must have the ability to walk up and down stairs several times a day.
- Carry boxes/product up and down stairs several times a day.
- Must be able to bend down or kneel to stock product frequently during a shift.
- Must be able to climb ladders as requested.
