Position Summary

The Front of House Manager works closely with the Restaurant's Food & Beverage Manager and Head Chef with all operational needs. Ensuring guests are receiving exceptional service, while maintaining a strong, team-oriented atmosphere. They take responsibility in the absence of the restaurants Food & Beverage Manager for the overall operation of each established outlet within the hotel to supporting all of banquet events. To be successful in this position, one must able to clearly communicate to staff of daily events and changes. Greet every guest, manager, and co-workers in a professional and friendly manner. Weekends and night shifts are required on a consistent basis. Your schedule will be based on business needs and are not on a set schedule. We however do strive for mental health and encourage 2 days of consecutively.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and mentors in all F&B areas.
  • Conduct opening pre-shift and closing shifts with staff to ensure knowledgeable and understanding service
  • Ensure proper set for meal service periods and make proper corrections if necessary.
  • Regularly attend morning management meeting in the absence of F&B Management team.
  • Must be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts.
  • Performance of managerial administrative functions to assist serving staff as needed.
  • Ability to control effective shift labor management based on business necessity.
  • Ensures daily transactions are reported properly.
  • Ensure safe practices within the Food & Beverage Department are followed by all employees.
  • Ensure set for next service is complete or properly stocked for next shift.
  • Comply with Hotel Teatro’s Policies, Procedures and Standards of Conduct outlined in the employee handbook
  • Works effectively and communicates with other departments to meet Hotel goals.
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing all staff performance, attendance or behavioral issues that are in violation of Hotel Teatro’s policies and procedures to senior management either within F&B or Human Resources for corrective action if necessary.
  • Menu creation for Bar menu
  • Creating drinks for Bar menu
  • Wine, beer, liquor tastings
  • Maintain company standard percentages of Bar menu
  • Responsible for FOH scheduling according to business and banquets
  • Responsible for all training of FOH positions
  • Able to create and implement training SOP's
  • Responsible for guidance and projects and schedule of FOH Supervisor

  • Hiring, mentoring, and termination of employees
  • Setting up or use current Vendor for supplies, and deliveries
  • Ordering all FOH bar supplies, server supplies, and or uniforms (this is not an exhaustive list) for accurate and appropriate service
  • Scheduling for staff for banquets, be a lead on banquets (if necessary), designate staff and all FOH decor, setup, and is poc for sales department.
  • Working documentation and meetings with HR to ensure accuracy in scheduling, payroll, pto, and other responsibilities that require HR collaboration

Knowledge/Skills

  • 5 years Food and Beverage / Restaurant Knowledge
  • Microsoft Suites Experience
  • 3-5years’ experience working in restaurant management.
  • 1-2 years working with POS systems
  • Ability to communicate efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • 1-2 years Bar knowledge
  • Able to prioritize tasks.
  • 1-2 years working knowledge of banquets.

Education

  • High school diploma or vocational secretarial.

Physical Demands

  • Able to lift 50lbs.
