Aimé Leon Dore is looking for a Food & Beverage Manager to join our team in Manhattan, New York, reporting directly to the VP of Hospitality and Operations. The Food & Beverage manager will be responsible for the operations of the New York Cafe and Private Space. Including business operations, supply ordering, people management and reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all Soho space food and beverage operations including stock management, vendor relationship management and daily reporting while maintaining compliance with company procedures and policies
- Ensure all ordering is done in a timely manner while maintaining an accurate inventory
- Consistently assess food and beverage business to reports on the financial and operational state of the business that trigger the development of action plans to support operational improvements and focus on optimizing profit, minimizing margins and promote exceptional experience(s) for guests and staff
- Responsible assessing the f&b business on a weekly/daily basis and in providing reports on the economic and operational state of the business that trigger the development of action plans to support operational improvements and focus on optimizing profit, minimizing margins and promote exceptional experience(s) for guests, staff
- Responsible for organizing and executing food and beverage events at the Private Space as needed
- Strategically recruit, train, and manage the front of house and back of the house teams to ensure the successful day-to-day operations and customer experience, maximizing functions within the private space along with the Space and Cafe managers and assistant manager
- Oversee and managing disciplinary records within the cafe, ensuring clear communication of and adherence to established standards of conduct and shop guidelines
- Complete monthly schedule for the Cafe team in accordance with the company's budget and business needs
- Complete weekly payroll in accordance with the company's policies
- Responsible for ensuring all Health & Safety requirements to ensure a well maintained and inviting environment that is in compliance with all DOH, DOB and FDNY for both the café and the private space.
- Ensure all maintenance records are up to date
- Communicate regularly with executive leadership regarding sales, staffing, employee performance, and overall operational efficiency
- Always demonstrate an authentic, best-in-class approach to customer satisfaction whilst role modeling for the team on best practices aligned with company guidelines and ethos
- Drive a high-performance, community driven culture across the team by setting clear expectations and targets, giving prompt and appropriate feedback to direct reports, and supporting development of the team
- Assist with the development of cafes as needed
- Greet guests with a genuine and warm welcome.
- Offer answers to questions and concerns with patience, confidence and professionalism.
- Maintain professional image while on duty with well grooming hygiene and prescribed uniform
- Influence a fun and positive atmosphere by being approachable and professional
Qualifications:
- Exhibit excellent organizational skills to effectively plan and execute short- and long-term projects aligned with the global strategy
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships (internal/external) as well as highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
- Creative and analytical thinker who encompasses strong business aptitude is driven by results and guest satisfaction. Naturally hospitable.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines
Requirements:
- 2 + years of experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays
- Food/Beverage knowledge in an upscale environment preferred
- Knowledge in Microsoft suite
Additional Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands
- Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays and late nights
- Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the space to others
- Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required
Salary Range: $66,000 - $80,000
