BASIC FUNCTION: The F&B Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation and staff of the events department and dining room and food & beverage needs during the meeting and events, while maintaining the highest level of standards and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor and critique beverage quality, food quality and service levels.
- Prioritize Guest satisfaction as a top goal.
- Promote a professional atmosphere and culture through all departments.
- Assist with scheduling, interviewing, hiring, and training, coaching, counseling and performance evaluations of staff.
- Monitoring and daily tracking of payroll and revenue.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to create innovative Food and Beverage offerings.
- Ensure scenography standards of atmosphere and cleanliness of restaurant, including inspecting tabletops, bar, side-stations and event space.
- Document, train, and commuincate all operational procedures and protocols.
- Assist with monitoring of all current inventories (liquor, beer, wine, food, etc.) and the ordering of new product.
- Assist in end of the month inventories.
- Monitor current trends in the industry and make recommendations for new products and innovate service solutions.
- Enforce State of Illinois, City of Chicago, and David Rubenstein Forum alcohol policies.
- Ability to use good judgemet to de-escalate uncomfortable situations with internal and external guests.
- Maintaining cost efficiencies of restaurant through forecasting, inventory controls and staffing.
- Maintain a consistent smooth running operations.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Respond to any reasonable task assigned by your immediate supervior or General Manager
- Assist in all outlets and Banquets when needed.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS: (EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE)
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Restaurant, or Culinary Management is preferred.
- Five years of progressive restaurant experience preferred.
- Two years of management experience preferred.
- Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, POS System(s) and online reservations sites is a plus.
- Manager ServSafe certified with City of Chicago certification and BASSET certified within allotted time designated after starting position.
