Position Description
The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager performs duties under the direct supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager. General responsibilities include, oversight and training of kitchen and bar staff, inventory ordering, event coordination, under the direction of the Food and Beverage Manager, and maintaining a clean work environment in accordance with health department standards. This is an at-will position.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise dining room and bar activities, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction for our members and guests.
- Collaborate in the development of the menu for golf course daily play in accordance to needs of Work in tandem with the line cooks for production of the menu.
- Order and maintains Food and bar inventory for the execution of the menu
- Develops procedures for consistent menu production. Train line cooks on the menu production
- Ability to manage all areas when the Food and Beverage Manager is off property.
- Work with Food and Beverage Manager for menu development and revenue enhancement.
- Assigns and directs kitchen and bar personnel; establishing a high standard of personnel performance and customer service.
- Assists Food and Beverage Manager in working with the Marketing Department on the development of new promotional strategies.
- Investigates and resolves complaints regarding service or product quality in a timely manner, involving the Food and Beverage Manager and the Director of Golf Operations as needed.
- Ensures and enforces sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas. Ensures compliance with local and regional health authorities.

Communication & Customer Service

Safety & Risk Management
- Maintains a working knowledge of all general and departmental-specific safety
- Uses material handling equipment or staff assistance when lifting and/or moving objects 50 pounds or heavier.
- Reports any work-related injuries to supervisor
- Immediately reports all accidents and unsafe conditions to the
- Attends all required safety program and in-service education
- Corrects unsafe conditions, if possible, alerts co-workers to potential unsafe conditions and/or reports them to supervisor.
- Instructs co-workers, when necessary, on safety procedures or precautions.
Qualifications
Must be 21 years of older. Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry. Knowledge of catering and concessions sales., Proven experience with inventory ordering, cost controls, and revenue enhancement. Ability to multitask and manage time effectively. Knowledge of health department regulations and liquor laws. Excellent leadership and customer service skills. Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel and outlook) experience preferred. Must have Basset and Food Manager’s Certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days. Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.

Hours Standards
This is a full time year round position. Work hours are dependent on events or activities at ROGC and BDGC. Hours will include weekends, evenings and holidays.
