Overview: TThe Fleet Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of fleet vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Daily involvement with E-Logs and driver compliance.
• Quarterly review and request driver abstracts and MVR’s.
• Annual request of FMCSA Clearinghouse compliance for drivers.
• Booking quarterly DOT drug tests for drivers.
• Manage and review leases with Penske and Idea Lease.
• Purchase new equipment such as tractors, trailers, and forklifts.
• Review and discuss all violations from roadside inspections with Operations Managers and Divisions Managers.
• Review and maintenance of insurance.
• Ensure all cars, trucks, and trailers are up to date and accurate.
• Work closely with the finance and accounting team for vehicle transactions, leases, purchasing, and selling.
• Set-up new hire drug tests, fuel cards, and Geotab accounts.
• IRC with Health and Safety Manager for vehicle and property related incidents.
• Explore options for fuel and propane with different vendors for the best pricing.
• Ensure the best practices are being followed.
• Collaborate with leasing companies and divisions regarding IFTA and vehicle registrations.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 7-10 years Fleet Manager/Industry experience.
• Strong capability to effectively consult, influence, negotiate, and lead change.
• Strong rapport-building and effective relationship skills.
• Strategic thinking, project management, and planning capability.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential.
• Demonstrated success in handling competing priorities and tasks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Relevant fleet Industry knowledge.
