As a small residential tree service, it was not long before Mountain Firewood (original name) realized it was time to expand out of the small residential tree service. Four years later, the business blossomed into a full spectrum vegetation management business that specialized in providing services to a variety of customers including federal, state, and local agencies, municipalities, utility companies, timber companies, small landowners, and fire safe councils.
In 2000, our business grew out of the residential tree service and firewood business to providing utility tree trimming and hazard tree removal services to the utility and commercial tree management industries. MFE is currently seeking an experienced Fleet manager to join our top-notch and growing team.
Job Description
- Oversee and schedule vehicle/Equipment inspection, maintenance, and servicing to minimize downtime
- Procure vehicles, whether through lease, purchase, or other means, according to company requirements
- Register, obtain licenses, and ensure the company’s vehicles
- Secure vehicles, drivers (during work-related activities), and relevant assets
- Creates and manages fleet policies.
- Uses GPS systems that find where vehicles/Assets are located. Keeps updated
- Hire well-performing in-house technicians and field techs
- Partner with reputable repair and maintenance shops in favorable locations
- Maintain all vehicle information and inspection records
- Develop functional, profit-maximizing driver schedules and routes
- Review drivers’ behavior
- Securely store driver records
- Reduce unnecessary expenses and increase fuel efficiency
- Secure the fleet’s compliance with applicable regulations
- Guarantee excellent client service
- Analyze fleet performance data and improve accordingly
- Report fleet performance and finances to upper management
- Maintain a communication line from the fleet to the field on repairs and asset availability.
- Work with senior leadership to forecast fleet workload and requests on upcoming projects
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- A minimum of 5years as Fleet Manager experience
- Must pass drug test & physical for employment
- Clean Background Check Mandatory
- Must have valid United States driver’s license
