FLEET MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY
Planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and supervising the programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of fleet vehicles. The Fleet Manager also serves as the primary contact concerning the vehicle fleet and operations. This position exercises discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Schedule strict, regular vehicle maintenance on all vehicles to ensure operational efficiency.
- Order urgent or emergency repairs as needed, working with vendors to determine repair cost vs remaining vehicle value.
- Maintain detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection.
- Develop cycle plan and lease/purchase vehicles to expand and/or enhance the fleet.
- Manage vehicle licensure and registration.
- Comply with U.S. Department of Transport laws and regulations.
- Require branches to maintain accurate database information on drivers.
- Ensure all fleet members have proper licensure and up-to-date training.
- Administer WEX fuel cards and review fuel usage.
- Manage fleet vendor relationship.
- Manager Fuel Tax for NY vehicles and manage that vendor relationship.
- Administer Geotab database and serve as point of contact for the platform.
- Provide reports to management on budgeting, schedules, drivers, maintenance, and fleet progress.
- Develop methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency.
- Develop strategies for greater fuel efficiency.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Education: High School Diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s in logistics, business administration, automotive technology or relevant preferred
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in logistics, preferably transportation
- Requires a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report.
- Local Travel Expectations: 5%
- Overnight Travel Expectations: 5%

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND EXPECTATIONS
- Job duties are performed mainly within an established office environment under normal lighting and climate-controlled tolerances. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
- When the employee has cause to visit a work site, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and outdoor weather conditions. The noise in the work environment is often loud.
- Requires a consistent physical presence at the branch office to oversee shared services functions and employees, normally achieved by working standard business hours. Certain positions will require a flexibility of working hours to meet the demands of the job and the direction of the manager.
