Summary of scope and essential duties:
U.S. Owned Cross Border International Truck Carrier seeks a Fleet Maintenance Director. The position is primarily housed from our Juarez Terminal. The Fleet Maintenance Director is responsible for leading a team of mechanics, in multiple cross border US/MX locations, in an effective and quality preventative maintenance and repair program of trucks, tankers, and other equipment to ensure a safe and efficient fleet. Must have technical knowledge of diesel engines Bulk HazMat Tanker Hauling, to ensure that the best work decisions with the fleet are made. Must have previous experience in truck and trailer/tanker fleet management to be able to perform this position.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Oversee and manage the fleet operations, including maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
· Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of vehicles and equipment.
· Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for the procurement of parts and supplies
· Monitor fuel consumption and implement strategies to improve fuel efficiency.
· Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards.
· Manage a team of technicians and mechanics to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
· Develop and maintain relationships with external service providers for outsourced repairs and maintenance.
· Provide support to the operations team regarding all equipment-related issues.
· Monitor and analyze all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
· Perform administrative functions, including payroll approval, repair orders, compliance documentation, etc.
· Address all corrective action regarding direct reports.
· Provide clean, safe working conditions for the facility and equipment.
· Communicate with dealers, vendors, etc. to ensure operation's and company's needs are met.
· Identify and monitor equipment sent to outside sources for repairs.
· Anticipate problems and have good communication with drivers, supporting them in road services or any issue on the road related to tractors or trailers.
· Report to accounting all expenses incurred in the department and keep track of repair documentation.
· Maintain a record of all services and repairs per unit and a schedule for preventive maintenance as well.
· Conduct pre-shift meetings.
· Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
· Participate in Interviews for shop positions.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Must possess at least 5 years of Trucking industry experience in Fleet Maintenance.
· Strong knowledge of Haz Mat bulk liquid trailers preferred.
· Bilingual English/Spanish
· Work 80% in Mexico Terminals
· Travel in Mexico and the United States
· Prior technician/mechanic experience is required.
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Strong familiarity with truck/trailer repair and maintenance
· Thorough knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
· Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
· Strong computer skills- knowledge of Word, Excel, and Fleet Management systems
· Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks.
· Excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues and implement appropriate solutions.
· Knowledge of fleet management software systems for tracking maintenance schedules and trucks performance
· Experience in maintenance and repair of Class 8 truck tractors
· Proven track record managing multiple locations and employees.
· Readiness to remain available for emergency situations in an on-call status after regular work hours.
· Strong troubleshooting skills and excellent interpersonal skills and team orientation
· Sound oral/written communication skills in addition to analytical and computer literacy with experience using MS Office and fleet management systems.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills leadership skills
· Must be able to obtain US Passport
· Must be able to obtain US Customs SENTRI (trusted traveler) Card

· Work outside, work around moving objects or vehicles, work on slippery and uneven surfaces.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.48 - $29.48 per hour
