THE POSITION

The Bureau of Fiscal Management at the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is in search of a dedicated, meticulous candidate to fill the role of Fiscal Management Specialist 2. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Your role will encompass the development, preparation, administration, implementation, and management of the annual budget for various initiatives such as DEP's underground storage tanks, environmental protection agency (EPA) planning grant, multipurpose grant to States and Tribes, COVID particulate matter 2.5, and Department of Homeland Security BioWatch. The federal appropriations for these initiatives amount to approximately $20.65 million, spread across 8 appropriations. Within a federal fiscal year, you can expect an average of 16 open federal grants and cooperative agreements. It is crucial to strictly adhere to policies and regulations, as these funding streams are intricate and require thorough involvement.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Fiscal Management Specialist 1; or
  • One year of experience in professional fiscal administration, and a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
