Form of workThe Clinical Manager will be responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations of a busy retinal practice consisting of six physicians and over 30 technicians in four office locations. This manager will serve as a hands-on manager able to provide direct patient care as needed while supporting physicians and providing direction and coordination of work. The candidate will serve as a clinical liaison with administration, physicians, patients and outside organizations to coordinate clinic business, accomplish directives, and facilitate conflict resolution and problem-solving. The candidate will be accountable for developing initiatives related to process improvement and patient satisfaction; knowledge of ophthalmic coding and EMR documentation compliance standards and will participate in billing & coding meetings; familiar with HIPAA/patient confidentiality, OSHA and patient safety.
Education & Experience: A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant retinal experience strongly preferred, in addition to required IJCAHPO certification (COA, COT or COMT) and a minimum of 5 years' experience in medical management.
Specific Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day operations, clinic flow, tech schedules, compliance and performance of technicians. Maintains functional knowledge of tech staff responsibilities including patient intake, diagnostic testing such as fundus photography/fluorescein angiography, optical coherence tomography, basic tonometry, scribe and patient prep for injections.
