Well-known fragrance, skincare, and cosmetics privately owned Manhattan-based company is seeking a Financial Controller.
We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to join our dynamic team and contribute to the financial success and strategic growth of our organization. We are a leading player in the fragrance industry, dedicated to creating innovative and high-quality fragrances for a global clientele with a commitment to excellence. 

As a Financial Controller, you will undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. Finance Controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management.
Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning and Analysis:

   • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
   • Prepare budget forecasts, analyze variances, and provide insights to management.

2. Financial Reporting:

   • Manage all financial accounting and reporting functions for the company.
   • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements by GAAP.
   • Provide insightful analysis of financial results and communicate findings to executive leadership.

3. Internal Controls:

   • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
   • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

4. Cash Flow Management:

   • Monitor and manage cash flow to optimize working capital and liquidity.
   • Implement strategies to mitigate financial risks.

5. Audit Coordination:

   • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process.
   • Address audit findings and implement recommendations for process improvements.

6. Financial Strategy:

   • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
   • Provide financial insights to support decision-making and long-term planning.

7. Team Leadership:

   • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
   • Ensure the team's adherence to deadlines and quality standards.

Requirements:

1. Education:

   • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. MBA or CPA designation is a plus.

2. Experience:

   • 5+ Years of overall combined Accounting and Finance experience.
   • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar financial management role within the fragrance or related industry.
   • Knowledge of fragrance/beauty industry dynamics and market trends.

3. Skills:

   • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
   • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
   • Proficiency in financial modeling and ERP systems.
   • Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial regulations.
   • Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
   • Usage of accounting software and administration skills.

4. Leadership:

   • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
   • Strategic thinker with the ability to align financial goals with overall business objectives.
