Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

• Oversight of authorizations for complex medical cases including the peer to peer review process.
• Develops and supports the patient financial counseling process which may include conducting patient education classes, financial counseling and or attends patient tracking meetings as designated.
• Provides direction and support to the transplant and clinic clearance team by assisting with the interpretation and education of payer medical coverage policies and authorization requirements.
• Acts as a liaison to assist in maintaining effective relationship with clinical staff, physicians and hospital departments by addressing escalated financial clearance matters. Handles urgent issues for the clinic and department.
• Coordinates with clinical case management/social work, patient access, and clinic personnel. All other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a hospital environment in a revenue cycle role
• Demonstrated experience in managing numerous projects simultaneously and process improvement. Working knowledge of financial and basic clinical terminology preferred
• This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies, including physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors.
• Work may be stressful at times. Contact will involve dealing with upper management and/or leadership on a routine basis
