RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete regularly scheduled import and export transmissions through US Department of Education’s (ED) systems.
- Package and disburse federal, state, and institutional aid.
- Assist with monthly and year-end reconciliations.
- Ensure student files have been verified with all required documents received.
- Assist in the transition to a new Student Information System.
- Perform withdrawal calculations and process adjustments accordingly.
- Send email notifications for student action items.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to collect and analyze Financial Aid data in a detail-oriented manner.
- Self-motivated and able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously among changing priorities and deadlines.
- Become knowledgeable of federal and state laws, regulations, processes, and policies involved with administering Financial Aid and maintaining compliance.
- Ability to respond to inquiries effectively and accurately from students, parents, staff, and faculty.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to document procedures in a clear and concise written format.
- Ability to work in multiple Financial Aid systems at once.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of one year of experience working in higher education.
- In lieu of a degree, any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two or more years of experience in a higher education Financial Aid office
- Advanced knowledge of State and Federal Financial Aid policies
- Experience with required Financial Aid systems (COD, NSLDS, CPS, etc.)
- Experience working with Ellucian Banner.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- This position requires a criminal background check, which may include a Level II screening as required by Florida Statute §435.04.
- This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: This position is non-exempt/salary exempt. The normal work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; however, occasional overtime (weekends and evenings) may be required. [Travel between campus locations may be required]
TARGET HIRING SALARY: $45,000 annually.
