The Financial Aid Office at Laurel Ridge Community College Middletown Campus is seeking someone to assist in daily interactions with students, staff and faculty. This position needs a person with office etiquette, an ability to work with deadlines, along with duties that include handling heavy phone and foot traffic, filing, copying and following daily procedures. Confidentiality is a must in this position as student records and financial documents are continually reviewed and processed. The ability to multi-task is very important in this position that offers great opportunity and a unique way to serve the students.
Compensation:
The hourly pay range for this position is $13.63-$19.47 however, the actual rate will be commensurate with education and/or experience. The position is part time and as such cannot exceed 29 hours per week and is not eligible for health or leave benefits. However, the position may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.
Telework
According to DHRM policy 1.61 Teleworking, effective July 5, 2022, Virginia state employees will return to the workplace. Consistent with pre-pandemic policies, telework may be an option for certain eligible positions. Eligible positions are determined by the type of work and job requirements of the position, as defined by heads of agencies. Positions requiring more than two days of telework weekly will require approval from the Department of Education's Cabinet Secretary. Positions requiring more than two days of telework weekly require approval from the Office of the Governor's Chief of Staff.

  • Knowledge of Financial Aid procedures, PeopleSoft Student Information System
  • Proven academic excellence and subject matter knowledge, which may be evidenced by training, experience, and/or an associate degree
