Job Summary
We are seeking a File Clerk to join our team on a TEMPORARY basis! As a File Clerk, you will be handling incoming and existing documentation, reading all documents, and determining where they belong within the filing system. You may also have to input information from the file into the computer system to catalog it, assist other staff members in finding the documentation they require and perform basic office support duties. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
Responsibilities
- Scans, creates and upload paper, digital files and data, ensuring that they are clear, legible, and appropriately named.
- Organizes and archives records and documents.
- Uses alphabetical and numerical systems to organize paper and electronic records documents.
- Checks paperwork, digital forms, and files, updating or correcting labels on documentation as needed.
- Discards documents when required in accordance with official document retention and destruction policy and procedures.
- Operates office equipment.
- Assist others in the office with locating the necessary documents and files they need during the day
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and shift focus and priorities, as needed
- Strong organizational skills
- Integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality and privacy
- Ability to read and understand Enlgish
- Research and critical thinking skills
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Knowledge of basic office and administrative software sush as MS Office helpful
- Experience working in an office setting desired
- Previous clerical experience desired
- Experience working with file-keeping software or cloud storage a plus
