Job Title: Field Service Engineer-Imaging
Position Description: Modular Devices is the industry leader in providing mobile cardiac cath and angiography lab solutions during lab renovations, program start-ups and expansions, and for emergency support of hospitals and physicians throughout the United States. We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance for the clinical imaging systems maintained within our Mobile lab units. The Imaging Field Service Engineer may support Cardiac Cath Labs, CT, PET/CT, and various other potential medical imaging modalities. This position can be field based or in house at our Indianapolis Service Center. This position requires established technical expertise in at least one medical imaging modality and will build familiarity with multiple classes of clinical equipment. The position also serves our organization by ensuring that our labs meet all regulatory compliance standards, holds responsibility in inventory management, and contributes to department improvement by mentoring and collaborating within a team focused environment. Essential job duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform performance assurance (PA) inspections, scheduled maintenance, operation verification procedures (OVP) and installation of complex medical imaging equipment.
- Repair and calibrate complex medical imaging equipment and systems in the field or in house.
- Interpret customer concerns or problems with equipment in the field.
- Inform supervisors of the status of repairs, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations, and any customer concerns.
- Work with, direct, and document the activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians to ensure proper service delivery.
- Maintain Clinical Engineering expertise through ongoing training and education.
- Assist on Service operations special projects as assigned and contribute to the development of others through mentoring and sharing expertise.
- Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), including all regulatory agency compliances and other applicable policies and procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring all service and documentation is complete, timely, and accurate.
- Work with Medical Physicist on accurate and aligned radiation outputs to ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety.

Required Knowledge/Skills:
- Medical imaging system troubleshooting and repair experience.
- Able to perform complex equipment installation, investigative tests, and repairs.
- Strong mechanical skills.
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable troubleshooting high voltage electrical systems (480v 3-phase, 700Vdc).
- Driven, accountable, innovative and a self-starter.
- Ability to prioritize, and work efficiently to meet commitments.
- Superior communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Have a self-motivated work ethic, team-oriented attitude, and desire to learn/grow in the medical imaging field.
- Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction.
- Be an excellent team player, must work closely and often side by side with 3rd party laborers, customer contractors, local engineers, project managers etc.
- Lift parts or carry parts weighing a few ounces to over 100 lbs. (assistance available when lifting items over 50 lbs.)
- Frequently bends, stoops, twists, turns, and works in unusual positions using full body mobility.
- Successfully demonstrates thorough/ advanced knowledge of a technical or specialty area.
- Excellent attention to details and strong desire to meet deadlines with high levels of accuracy.
- Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
- Up to 30% travel required.
Experience:
- BSEE / BSET preferred, or two-year formal education combined with appropriate high tech related experience or 3-5 years industry experience repairing medical imaging equipment.
- Experience with legacy windows workstations. Ability to install software and troubleshoot PC software and hardware problems is required.
- Valid Driver’s License Required.
Education:
- Associates degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent military training required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology preferred.
Remote Work: This role will be Field based. If the need arises to work remotely, including nights and weekends, employees are expected to work in a secure location to protect company data and have stable high-speed internet.
Additional requirements:
This is a full-time position. Employees are expected to work a general schedule of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Employees may be required to work beyond the standard schedule to meet the deliverables and expectations of the role. Employees working from home, like those in an office, should use their time wisely and constructively to plan their day since there is limited daily oversight.
