Job Description: PTS Automation is seeking a talented and experienced Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for automation projects across different industries. As a Controls Engineer at PTS Automation, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet our clients' requirements and exceed their expectations. Your work will require you to be creative and come up with innovative solutions to complex problems. With your excellent communication skills and ability to work independently, you will be able to support staff and customers alike.
Description and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement control systems for automation projects, including PLCs, HMIs, Servo Drives, VFDs, Vision Systems, traditional and autonomous mobile robots.
- Conduct system integration, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure the functionality, reliability, and performance of control systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of control systems with mechanical and electrical components.
- Field Engineering support for retrofit and upgrade projects
- Provide technical support and assistance to project teams and clients during system installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases.
- Travel to customers for design reviews, project start-ups, and troubleshooting support
- Travel is typically 5-10% overnight and 20-60% local.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in control engineering technologies and methodologies.
Requirements:
- BS or AS related technical degree.
- Proven experience in designing and programming control systems using PLCs and HMIs
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff and customers alike
- Self-motivated and ability to work through projects with minimal supervision
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Prior experience in the automation or manufacturing industry is preferred.
