Biomedical Equipment Technician / Biomedical Equipment Engineer (work remotely when not servicing clients)

The Opportunity
We are looking for a medical imaging Biomedical Equipment Technician / Biomedical Equipment Engineer to service, maintain and occasionally install our MRI & CT scanning systems at customer sites in the East Texas (Tyler, TX) to Western Louisiana (Shreveport)region. - Based remotely out of your home office, provide top-level on-site service support that delights our customers and sets the benchmark for the medical imaging industry;
- Work closely with Customer Care Center (regional and headquarter level) to effectively carry out trouble-shooting, maintenance, and updates on designated products;
- Embrace new technology while leveraging core strengths in customer service and service support;
- Play a key role in new, first-of-a-kind medical imaging system product launches in the US market;
- Continually build competence in providing technical assistance and support to our customers;
- Quickly and efficiently escalate challenges as appropriate to ensure expeditious resolution of all issues and high levels of customer satisfaction;
- Responsible for installation of diagnostic imaging equipment for designated products in geographic region;
- Attend service training courses overseas and in the US as needed and work toward completion of the Client’s Professional Certification.
Requirements for the Biomedical Equipment Technician / Biomedical Equipment Engineer
- Associate’s degree in technical field and/or equivalent experience preferred. Strong preference for candidates with Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering degrees.
- Ability to work remotely from your home office when not out in the field.
- Familiarity with hardware/software of diagnostic imaging equipment (MR, CT, PET, DR, etc.) and previous experience with this equipment is a plus, but is not required.
- Client strongly prefers candidates with prior military experience – especially prior enlisted veterans with electronics, avionics, or similar high-end equipment service and maintenance specialties.
- Our client will also strongly consider Clinical Engineers / Biomedical Engineers who currently support medical equipment such as respiratory, bio-medical, x-ray, infusion pumps or similar medical equipment.
- Candidates must have previous Field Service experience where you have managed a geographic territory and demonstrated strong troubleshooting ability with hardware, mechanical, and software systems;
- Strong customer communication skills with ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing;
- Demonstrated ability to contribute in a team environment focused on customer success;
- Possess relevant IT skills with competence on Windows, Microsoft Office suite, and network communication and connectivity;
- Superb customer facing skills needed for working with customers and internally at all levels. Must be able to quickly build rapport and gain respect from others;
- A flexible approach to work and travel with strong commitment to customer satisfaction and company success;
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record required;
- Ability to travel up to 50% the first 6 months to receive extensive “on the job” training in different regions and attend formal training sessions. Then enjoy overnight travel in the 10% range once fully trained.
Salary and Benefits for the Biomedical Equipment Technician / Biomedical Equipment Engineer
- Base salary range is 60k to 80k range. This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay. Position is also bonus eligible up to 5% and a Company Car is provided (or a vehicle allowance if preferred by employee).
