Location: Dallas, TX
Aegis Worldwide has partnered with a prominent manufacturing facility who is seeking a Electrical/Mechanical Field Service Engineer to join their team. This position will require 75% travel with the travel being 1-10 days at a time. You do not have to live in Dallas, TX to be considered for this position.
Objective:
A seasoned Automation/Electrical Field Service Engineer with a comprehensive background in technical support and customer service across the United States and Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Frequently travel (up to 75%) to client sites for the installation, diagnosis, and repair of capping equipment, including weekend and overnight stays to align with customer production schedules.
- Conduct mechanical troubleshooting, machine startups, debugging, and the rebuild/repair of mechanical assemblies.
- Maintain professional interactions and communication with customers and internal departments to address service and product concerns.
- Efficiently document and communicate technical issues through drawings, photos, and detailed reports.
- Offer remote support to Field Service Engineers, management, engineering, and clients via phone, email, and Skype.
- Lead the commissioning and oversee the installation of capping machinery, including training for end-users.
- Identify and promote additional customer service opportunities to enhance the company’s service and parts programs.
- Implement and adhere to Field Service processes to boost efficiency and organizational structure within the department.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by management.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years in a troubleshooting role, with at least 3 years focused on automation/electrical setup and troubleshooting.
- Profound knowledge in mechanical/electrical technical applications, including Allen-Bradley PLCs, servo-driven motors, and controls.
- Experienced in the setup, troubleshooting, and programming of sensors, vision cameras, encoders, drives, etc.
- Varied background encompassing manufacturing operations, engineering, aftermarket support, and customer care.
- Technical degree or certification preferred.
- Strong mechanical and automation aptitude, with a clear understanding of machine setup and control theory.
- Outcome-focused, with a self-driven, motivated, and persistent attitude.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a knack for building and maintaining strong customer and business relationships.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Effective presentation skills, along with persuasive written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and capable of learning proprietary CRM systems.
