If you need reasonable accommodation in any part of the selection process, please let us know.Essential Functions•The Festival Graphic Design Intern will provide support to the Development department by performing various administrative tasks and participating in various projects. •This position is designed to provide the intern with an opportunity to gain practical Graphic Design experience in a professional environment.Tasks and Responsibilities•Reports to the Director of Annual Giving & Special Events and Director of Communications.•Manages social media, distributing event promotion, announcements, and other information with visually compelling graphics. •Helps coordinate event communications schedule, including collaborating with venues and vendors on a deliverables timeline.•Creates events media for digital use and mail/print (fliers, posters). •Creates print media for outreach, newsletter, and impact reports for donors and staff.•Updates and maintains website as needed.Qualifications•Completed or working towards a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Art, Fine Art, Graphic Art, Graphic Design, or a related field.•Familiarity with Adobe suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) strongly recommended.•Familiarity with WordPress recommended.•Proficiency with Canva, required. •Strong organization skills and attention to detail.•Graphic Design experience preferred. •Web Design experience recommended.•Strong communication, multi-tasking, and interpersonal skills.•Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information and material in a discretionary manner.Benefits Available to InternAlthough this is an unpaid internship, students and recent graduates are offered an excellent opportunity to:•Build resumes and explore career options.•Apply skills and knowledge to the workplace.•Fulfill college/university internship requirements.•Network in their field of interest with professionals who are dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of the homeless population and the non-profit sector.Schedule: In-person in Chicago, IL and Remote. There is opportunity for school credit if allowed by the college/university of applicant. Position offers an excellent opportunity to work on substantive projects and can result in a great reference.
