- Read and interpret technical drawings or Cad models and use datum structures, to determine best programming process practices.
- Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly.
- Use Microsoft Office tools to implement set up sheets for Shop Floor Set-Up use.
- Optimize existing programs to decrease cycle times and improve quality.
- Collaborate with Management, Engineering, Set-up Techs, and Operators on new job launches and continuous improvement activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machining processes as they arise.
- Interpret CMM layout reports to adjust or resolve CNC program issues.
- Assist Engineering / Quoting as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements for CNC Programmer
- The ideal candidate would have prior experience setting up and running CNC machines not limited to Swiss, Mill Turn, VMC, and Basic Lathe machining centers is required.
- Proficient at programing using MasterCam, Part Maker, Fusion 360, (5 or more years as a fulltime programmer is required).
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving cutting tool issues as they arise.
- Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential.
- Should have a positive and professional attitude.
- Available to work weekends and overtime on occasion.
- Experience with fixture / work holding design is a plus.
- Proficient with Solid Works is a plus.
- 4thAxis Milling or CNC Lathe programming is a plus.
