Data Engineer

Position Summary HaystackID is seeking a new Data Engineer to support new and legacy data sources for the Data Science department in servicing internal and external customers. After some time in the post, the selected candidate may have customer-facing responsibilities if they prove capable. This role is principally during business hours in Eastern Time. Some evening (ET) and weekend work is common, although management does work to minimize these needs.

Roles and responsibilities

• Working with data in a wide variety of formats and over a wide variety of use domains (communications, financial, telemetry, etc.)
• Assisting in developing new and maintaining existing applications for data ingestion and processing to allow users to self-serve mature collection processes.
• Attend scheduled video calls daily to coordinate with other team members.
• The core technology stacks in use are Microsoft-based technologies. Most development tasks will be in C# and ASP.NET for data processing, providing web APIs and portals for user access. Azure DevOps is the principal DevOps platform in use.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or significant equivalent work experience (>7 years)
• Software Development experience (C#/ASP.NET preferred) in a team environment

Preferred Specific Skills:

· Web Application Development (C#/ASP.NET Stack)

· SQL Databases (MSSQL, MySQL, etc.)

· JSON

· XML

· Web API Utilization (HTTP Direct, not using libraries)

· Document-oriented databases (MongoDB, Elastic, etc.)

· Breaking down large tasks into smaller tasks

· Documenting processes, tasks, and capabilities

Pay: $80,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
