Job Description
Flexible, tech-savvy people are needed 35-40 hours per month to support the mission of Erikson’s Early Teaching and Learning Academy in providing high-quality, progressive professional development opportunities for early childhood practitioners.
Please note that the hours for this position are subject to the Academy’s professional development schedule. The Tech Support person’s hours can be split between 3 shifts:
- All day: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, with a break between 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
- Morning: 7:30 – 10:30 am
- Afternoon: 12:30 – 3:00 pm

Description
Job duties include working closely with Facilitators to ensure synchronicity of goals and execution of a high-quality meeting for online participants.
- Pre-production
- Support facilitators with preparation, including asynchronous tasks and synchronous tech-check meetings.
- Production
- Using Zoom, the tech support person will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to creating breakout rooms and polls, managing meeting recordings (including stops and starts), monitoring chat and participant behavior, and assisting both Facilitators and participants with troubleshooting when necessary.
- The tech support person must be mentally present and focused on the PD throughout the entire session.
- Post-production
- Rename and upload or transfer Zoom files to their proper locations on SharePoint/OneDrive
- Other asynchronous tasks vary depending upon the PD but may include organizing files and working with Microsoft 365 products.
- Work closely with Facilitators to ensure synchronicity of goals and execution of a high-quality meeting for online participants.
- Attending relevant planning meetings.
- Set up and conduct tech run-through as needed.
Essential Skills & Equipment
- Knowledge of Zoom, G Suite (including Google Meet), Google Classroom, Microsoft 365 Products (including Microsoft Teams)
- Can troubleshoot and solve unexpected technical issues.
- Friendly and team oriented
- This position requires access to a reliable high-speed internet connection and a computer capable of running the latest version of Zoom and G-Suite
