GENERAL SUMMARY:  TheSchool of Engineering & Construction Technologies ProgramSupport Strategist strengthens and enhances the School, the success ofits students, offerings and extramural linkages through strategic engagement inrecruitment, retention, promotional, extramural and support-focused activities.
PRINCIPALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Focuson student retention efforts for both on campus and distance learning students.
  • Developnew, and coordinate existing School of Engineering & ConstructionTechnologies on- and off-campus recruitment practices,processes and standards—with special emphasis on populationscurrently underrepresented across campus; coordinate stakeholder engagement inthem.
  • Develop and fulfill strategies pertinent tothe promotion of the School and its programs through a diverse range of mediaand technologies.
  • Collaborate with other academic and studentservices units and representatives to engage, support and connect prospectiveand continuing School of Engineering & Construction Technologies studentswith resources designed to enhance their successes.
  • Trackand maintain enrollment/retention/graduation data for prospective, current andformer School of Engineering & Construction students; assure that accuraterecords are maintained.
  • Assist School stakeholders by providing general information andassistance to students, faculty, staff, industry representatives and otherSchool and University constituencies.
  • Coordinate and maintain the School’s website.
  • Engage School and University stakeholders in personand through a variety of communications media—to include letters, texts, emails, telephone calls, social media, and emergentplatforms.
  • Coordinatestudent internship/employment opportunities and related processes.
  • Serveas a School liaison with program advisors and other industry representatives.
  • Coordinatethe acquisition and processing of extramural donations.
  • Coordinate and communicate activities with other OSUIT units andrepresentatives, as appropriate.
  • Represent the School of Engineering & Construction Technologies ata variety of School and University organizational meetings and functions.
  • Fulfill other responsibilities tomeet the needs of the School and/or OSUIT as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’sdegree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Candidates with alternate combinations of credentials and/or experience may beconsidered.
  • Evidencesa history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
  • Demonstratedsuccess in collaborating with and serving diverse constituencies.
  • Formal experience inpublic relations, sales, marketing and/or promotions.
  • Work experience inhigher education or similar environment highly preferred.
  • Experience workingwith diverse audiences.
  • Understandingof current student recruitment and retention best practices.
  • Abilityto work independently as well as in collaboration with other internal andexternal constituents to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Ability to develop and deliver promotionalcontent, presentations and other materials for a variety of audiences andmultiple venues using both electronic and print means.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude,professional appearance and demeanor. 
  • Flexible,creative and self-motivated; able to plan, organize and fulfill complexactivities and initiatives.
  • Able to continuouslyimprove processes and practices, and quicklygrasp and apply new skills and methods to existing and emergent issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards ofwork, initiative, commitment, ethics, professional responsibility and judgmentin a deadline-drive environment.
  • Knowledgeof and experience in working with a range of communications and workproductivity technologies.
  • Abilityto manage data from and in a range of information systems.

  • Abilityto work effectively with and promote diverse populations.
  • Must possessexcellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal andpresentation skills, and be able to interact effectively with individualsrepresenting diverse backgrounds, as well as recognize and resolve conflict.
  • Mustbe able to respond quickly and effectively to stakeholder needs.
  • ValidOklahoma driver’s license with CDL (Class B).
  • Ability to work irregularhours, to include some evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Travel required.
  • Normal officephysical environment; ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
