Department Information

The Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing (CEISMC) is a unit of the Division of Lifetime Learning at Georgia Tech. Since 1991, CEISMC has served as the primary connection point between Georgia Tech faculty and students and the preK-12 STEM education community.

By offering intensive, innovative professional development to practicing teachers, creating highly engaging in-school and extracurricular STEM experiences for K-12 students, and conducting research on effective STEM education practices, we strive to improve STEM teaching and learning in Georgia and improve the pipeline of students ready to excel in STEM fields.

Annually, CEISMC programs impact more than 62,000 students and 3,500 teachers in over 99 school districts throughout the state of Georgia. CEISMC achieves this through research, intensive teacher professional development, advancements in pedagogy, school and community outreach, and sustainable partnerships. The unit works closely with public and private stakeholders to expand the reach of the Institute's STEM education efforts in urban communities near Georgia Tech as well as those in rural school districts throughout the state of Georgia.
