Farm Worker

Penderlea Farms is a tree farm in Burgaw, North Carolina. All of our oaks are grown in North Carolina soil, and our acorns are harvested from some of the most famous trees in the area. We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of best practices in the industry, and are looking for a committed, hard-working, individual to join our team.

Some of the day to day duties on the farm include:
- Digging, planting, transplanting, pruning, and caring for trees

- Mowing, weed-eating, and land clearing to maintain property

- Up-keep irrigation systems

- Maintaining surrounding wooded areas

The right person for this position is motivated, able to complete tasks alone OR work well in a team, able to change directions based on farm needs, and an excellent communicator. Should have some experience w/ farm equipment, such as bushhogs, tractors, excavators, skid steers, chainsaws, and all attachments. Must have reliable transportation and be able to consistently show up to work on time. Attention to detail and taking pride in one’s work is a must.

- Mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain farm equipment
- Ability to use power tools safely and effectively
- Basic math skills for measuring and mixing fertilizers and pesticides
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that involve heavy lifting and manual labor
