Performing one or more steps in preparation of processing poultry products. Production employees may use a knife or scissors to cut up or debone chicken. Other positions may include inspecting, packing or boxing product as well as possibly rehanging chickens, washing floors and equipment, or performing specialized tests in different departments. This work does involve standing for long periods of time with breaks in between. Some jobs may require doing rapid and repetitive work in a cold/damp environment. It may also include lifting heavy objects depending on the position.
Requirements:
- Stand on platform during entire shift with regular breaks in between, including extended lunch and afternoon breaks
- Work in cold/ moist environment
- Excellent verbal communication skills required
- Good hand and eye coordination
- Speed and accuracy required
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to stoop and bend on a regular basis.
- Must be able to push and or pull objects on a regular basis.
- Must be able to lift 40-80 pound cases if working in a packing department.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
No previous experience required but preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
No specific education required.
