Description
The Farm Systems Installation Technician I is part of a team that installs and supports information systems for dairy farms across the country. This is a career track technical position with room for growth. Responsibilities include installation and support of networks, surveillance cameras, computers and computer hardware.
This position requires a strong technical aptitude and experience and a desire to work in a farm setting with a team approach. The position is physically demanding and requires work in a variety of environmental conditions (heat and cold) and significant travel (minimum 60% of time) throughout the United States.
Salary: $53,500 - $75,000 Annually
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree in Animal Science, General Agriculture, Information Systems, or relevant field and at least 1 year of relevant experience (ie. repairing Windows based computers, deploying point to multipoint wireless networks, or providing IT based managed services.) Additional relevant experience can substitute for education.
- Valid driver's license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- General knowledge of electricity and wiring.
- Previous experience in building trades, finish work, or general construction.
- Experience operating a variety of hand tools.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- On site work is largely performed outdoors with regular exposure to a variety of weather conditions.
- Work is performed on farms in close proximity to cows.
- Work is performed using ladders and aerial lifts with heights up to 100 feet.
- Work requires driving a vehicle and some air travel.
