As a Family Service Coordinator in Looking Upwards Inc, Early Intervention Program, you will be responsible for individualized service plans to help children improve developmental skills in partnership with their families. By providing home-based programming, you can help parents feel confident in supporting their child’s growth long after your visit is over.
With Looking Upwards, Early Intervention, you’ll work in a supportive environment with a qualified team of social workers, developmental specialists, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists who are always willing to answer specific questions or collaborate for a co-treatment. You will also have the flexibility to schedule your home visits and, as a part of a larger nonprofit, you will benefit from resources and professional development to grow your career.
The following qualifications are necessary:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development; Early Childhood Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, Communication Disorders, Nutrition or a related EI field OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in a non-related field and 3 years experience working with or caring for infants and toddlers with special health care needs and their families OR
- High School diploma and 5 years of relevant experience with approval from EOHHS
- Must be able to coach and demonstrate interventions to parents which support their child’s ability for social emotional growth, skill development and actions to meet their needs
- Experience as a case manager preferred. Duties will include intakes, treatment plan development, and collaboration with school department during transition period
- Will need to travel to homes within Rhode Island
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Is solution oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking skills; creativity a must
- Professional and proficient writing and computer skills
- Can work autonomously and is self-directed
- Must be flexible and available to work the varied hours to meet the needs of the program and families
- Positive recommendation of current supervisor or employer
- Bilingual applicants preferred
Applicants must also have a valid driver's license, auto liability insurance, safe driving record and access to a dependable vehicle. Prior to employment, successful candidate must pass BCI background check , National background check and DCYF CANTs Clearance
