MISSION


The Warren Center advocates, serves and empowers the children and families impacted by developmental delays and disabilities.


SUMMARY


The Community & Family Support Specialist contributes to the overall mission and purpose of The Warren Center by effectively providing direct services to families and community partners, support to Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) staff and effectively marketing services to ensure that children with developmental differences are identified and referred as early as possible. This position works collaboratively with the Director of Programs, Assistant Directors, ECI Director, Clinic Team Lead and the Advancement Department.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Services to Families


• Facilitate and lead Parent Support groups; reserve rooms, schedule child care workers and meal needs
• Organize and lead educational workshops for families and professionals
• Organize and lead respite services for TWC families; reserve rooms, schedule and train child care volunteers
• Receive and answer incoming referrals for children over the age of three
• Partner with clinic program by educating and providing service coordination to parents
• Staff and Organize Resource fairs; Collaborate with other programs and community partners
• Reach out to former families to ensure they get the support and help that they need
• Support ECI Service Coordinators by providing knowledge, information and training about community resources
• Facilitate ECI Graduation, Family Fun Days, and play groups for families


Community & Family Support Services


• Ensure documentation is accurate and timely to meet The Warren Center requirements
• Research, gather and maintain an electronic “library” of resources for staff and families
• Compile success stories and share when appropriate and designate to Fund Development when requested
• Gather and document program outcome measures


Public Outreach


• Planning is comprehensive, achievable and results in consistently increasing referrals. Public Outreach Activities provide appropriate marketing of services to targeted audiences and the general public.
• Develop, implement, and revise a comprehensive Public Outreach plan in conjunction with the marketing department and Director of Programs and document activities and results electronically
• Establish consistent relationships with physicians, clinics, hospitals and day cares.
• Engage in regular face-to-face visits, phone contacts, and training as appropriate
• Be a resource for agency at community opportunities
• Collaborate with other service providers to ensure that children are identified/referred as early as possible

QUALIFICATIONS


Education
• Required - Bachelor's Degree in the field of child development, early childhood education or a related degree
Licensure/Certification/Registration
• Required – Licensed Clinic Social Worker or Licensed Masters Social Worker (if applicant is not currently licensed must be able to obtain license within 6 months of employement)


Experience
• Required - Two years’ minimum employment in direct services to persons with developmental disabilities and/or providing Social Work services
• Preferred – Four years of employment in direct services to persons with developmental disabilities

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams. Prior experience in database management a plus (The Warren Center utilizes Bloomerang)

Company Description
At The Warren Center, our mission is to advocate, serve and empower children and families impacted by developmental delays and disabilities.
We help children to reach their developmental goals through individualized therapy-based care and equip parents through monthly education workshops and support groups so they can be a confident advocate for their child.
1. Early Childhood Intervention (ECI): Serving over 1,000 each month, this program provides evaluations and personalized therapy sessions to children from birth to three years of age and includes occupational and physical therapy, speech and language therapy, feeding and nutrition therapy, developmental therapy, and transition assistance to additional services.
2. The Warren Center Clinic Therapy Services: This program served 163 children last fiscal year. We enroll children aged three to five, and continue to serve them as they get older. Our licensed speech-language pathologists, occupational therapist and physical therapist focus on communication, social, sensory, and motor/ coordination skills utilizing our sensory gym, outdoor therapy yard, motor room, small therapy rooms and group classroom.
3. We also help parents whose children are in a program with family education and support services which include monthly education workshops, respite care and support groups – plus guidance to other needed services and resources.
The Warren Center ECI program has a service area of 48 zip codes including Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Farmers Branch, Garland, Irving, Lake Highlands, Lakewood, North Dallas, Park Cities, Richardson, Rowlett, Sachse, and Wylie. We have three office locations in Richardson, Garland, and Carrollton. We make referrals to any family who needs help regardless of their city of residence.
Our Clinic Therapy Services and Family Education & Support Services is open to the entire DFW Metroplex and is not dependent on location.
