WR Spokane is looking for a Family and Youth Service Coordinator to expand capacity to support refugee and immigrant families and Youth as they learn to navigate their new community. The Coordinator will work with the team to plan and carry out activities, connecting newcomers to the many wonderful programs in the area.

Compensation: $18-$20 per hour
Role & Responsibilities

  • Support and participate in community needs assessment and feedback gathering
  • Continually look for new community programs for children and seek to build connections and ways to partner with community service providers
  • Logistics and planning for activities and resource navigation
  • Collaboration with team on logistics and planning of educational activities
  • Admin activities including reporting on activities, database entries, billing spreadsheet preparation, case notes, eligibility determinations for various programs
  • Report on event and activity outcomes
  • Procurement of supplies for events and activities
  • Direct assistance to families through intake, assessment and assistance with enrollment in relevant services and programs
  • Transportation to activities as needed
  • Coordination with volunteers supporting youth activities
  • Participation in office activities and community events, some may be outside of office hours •Other relevant duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to facilitate a group in person and/or virtually
  • Ability to complete tasks independently, thoroughly, and on time
  • Ability to communicate well and work closely with a team
  • Ability to use Windows and Microsoft software (including Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint), Zoom, and WhatsApp
  • Working knowledge of phone and laptop functionality
Requirements
  • Mature and personal Christian faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
  • Experience working with or lived experience as a refugee/immigrant
  • Experience working with children in youth-focused programming
  • Bachelor's degree in a social services field or social services work experience specific to youth plus additional to other formal education
  • Experience in teaching or group facilitation
  • Familiar with community resources in the local area
  • Willing to work some weekends and evenings

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations
· The ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-15 pounds.
· Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information.
· The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions.
· Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.
· Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.
