Position Summary
The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintenance and management of plant machinery and facilities. They are responsible for coordinating with outside contractors and supervising subordinate technicians.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Proficient and fluent in all job duties required of a facility technician and porter positions will ensure team members are trained and can perform all job duties
- Oversee daily tasks and ensure they are completed in the allowed/designated time from the task schedule
- Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance and porter technicians
- Generating operations and purchasing orders, stocking, and prioritizing emergency and non-routine requests
- Managing the maintenance of the building, grounds, equipment, and plant facilities
- Setting the preventative maintenance schedule for each piece of equipment and tracking the maintenance history on each
- Installing, moving, repairing, and removing equipment and utilities within the building
- Keeping in compliance with and abreast of all MIOSHA regulations
- Responsible for writing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Contracting with all outside contractors and coordinating their activities while in the facilities
- Supervising in-house facility technicians working in or on the facilities and keeping good records and following documentation practices including understanding and maintaining timecard and scheduling software
- Participate in the safety committee and monthly trainings
- Ensure Breaks and Lunches are scheduled and completed
- Perform any other tasks assigned by management
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Associates Degree with technical training factory/plant maintenance OR 4+ years of manufacturing/machine and/or agricultural and/or building/facility maintenance experience
- 2+ years in a supervisory position directing a multi-functional maintenance staff
- Strong mechanical aptitudes, and a working knowledge of electrical, and mechanical systems
- Excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to define problems, and resolve them quickly, familiarity with local building codes and MIOSHA regulations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and/or situations
