Job Purpose:

The Facility Maintenance Manager provides direct management and supervision to personnel involved in the maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment; the operation of heating, air conditioning, and ventilating systems; plumbing and electrical systems; roofing, building envelope and interior maintenance. Participates in the development, recommendation, and administration of policies, procedures and processes in support of facilities operations. The Facilities Manager will be assigned to one or possibly more locations. Depending on the specific building, this would include the various business units and the overall building, tenant spaces, hotel, retail and food and beverage outlets, common areas, grounds, equipment and related systems as the case may be. The GHG organization will have teams developed based on strength and strategic needs to support team planning for new construction, renovations, equipment upgrades, energy efficiency programs and life cycle replacement of assets and related systems. The Facilities Manager and other GHG content experts in various disciplines, may have cross building functions, to support common initiatives for other locations.  The position reports to the Director of Facilities & Maintenance.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Plans, organizes, and manages the operations and reliability of the facilities and general infrastructure systems.
  • Establishes and monitors preventative maintenance processes and programs and facility inspection processes.
  • Trouble-shoot and respond to after-hour issues as needed regarding the operational aspects of the facilities such as HVAC issues, electrical outages, water leaks, etc.
  • Monitors and oversees the work of external contractors to ensure terms of agreements are met and work is completed satisfactorily.
  • Provides leadership to maintenance personnel, promoting the work habits and attitude required of personnel holding facilities maintenance positions.
  • Supervise staff including hiring, evaluating performance, and exercising discipline as outlined by company policy.
  • Investigate alternative vendors and manufacturers for facilities maintenance related needs.
  • Help develop and promote open lines of communication between production personnel, other support groups and the maintenance personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to team growth and development, recruitment or referral of additional teammates, as well as oversight and feedback sessions for apprentices or interns.

What You Need for this Position
  • Two-year college degree in a technical, scientific or related field preferred.
  • Experience and success in leading, supervising, team building, and motivating staff.
  • Driven by purpose, mission, values, and has sense of urgency
  • Able to work closely with staff through strong communication and verbal skills
  • Must have good working knowledge of a wide variety of industrial building systems.
  • Organized and efficient; must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of various building management system programs.
  • License/certification in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, etc preferred
  • Basic PC skills preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills desired.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, up to 10 hours or more
  • Able to stoop and bend
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds from time to time
  • Able to safely work with potentially dangerous chemicals and equipment
  • Able to comply with safety and health code standards
  • Able to handle responsibilities that require repetitive motion tasks
