General Description of Duties
The initial salary may be up to 15% above the minimum salary based on verified related education, experience, and training above the minimum requirements.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
To effectively serve the citizens of Leon County and occupants of County facilities through parking lot maintenance and services contributing to the mission to provide clean, safe, and fully functional County facilities. This position serves as the primary parking attendant and parking maintenance lead for multiple parking garages and lots within the Operations Team's area of responsibility. Additionally, provides support for other operational needs such as moving, grounds, custodial, and courier services. Occasionally may be paired with a contracted day worker for additional support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Provide traffic control support, including directing traffic, towing coordination, maintenance, and staffing parking booth. Maintenance of parking facilities includes trash and litter removal, blowing leaves, signage, and other related tasks.
Follow safety and property management procedures to plan, direct, and assist moves as requested by county tenants, to include furniture removal, transport, surplus operations, and disposal. Requires driving box truck (no CDL required).
Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with landscape and grounds maintenance contract(s). Become familiar with and use basic landscape tools and practices and to perform tasks such as planting, fertilizing, watering, weeding, and pruning.
Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with custodial service contracts. Understand and enforce use of approved chemicals, appliances, equipment, and methods. May require periodic hands on cleanup of Leon County Facilities.
Uses work order system to receive, assign and complete tasks.
Expected to learn and implement mail delivery procedures including mail handling, processing, quarterly postage reports, and serve as reserve mail and records courier as required.
Serve in on-call rotation schedule that may entail rapid response to after-hours and weekend operational needs.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Operate car and/or light truck light, parking garage sweeper machine, gator utility vehicle, work order- Asset Essentials software.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular walking for periods of time. Must be able to lift, push, pull in excess of 20lbs. May need to stand for long periods of time. May need to stoop, kneel, crouch. May need to reach, handle, finger, feel. Work primarily outdoors. Work mainly at a desk, usually seated in a chair. Work mainly while standing. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. May be requested to work a different shift.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to interact with people, including co-workers, contract vendors, and the public, with a calm and helpful demeanor. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to use an issued smartphone and work- related applications. Ability to problem solve with minimal guidance but knows when to communicate and ask for assistance. Ability to bend and lift heavy objects up to 50lbs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent and six months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All Leon County employees (regular full-time and part-time, OPS, and PRN) are required to work before, during and after a Declared Local State of Emergency (DLSOE). Participation is considered a condition of employment.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License and a favorable driving record at the time of employment.
