Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Facilities Office Assistant for the School of Engineering. This position will be reporting to the School of Engineering Sr. Manager, Facilities & Quality Assurance.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Leads the shipping and receiving operations on the loading docks for all incoming and outgoing parcels and equipment.
- Receives and processes paperwork.
- Maintains ticketing system for Facilities Office.
- Assists with inventory of all lab equipment within the School of Engineering labs.
- Acts as a liaison with vendors, contractors, and transport services for equipment and materials orders for academic and research activity.
- Preparer for procurement activities for Facilities and ECS.
Work Arrangement
This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.
Position Salary
40,000-45,000

Temporary Staff Appointment - Salaried 12 Month
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent, and/or up to 4 years of relevant office, clerical, bookkeeping, or related experience depending on the duties to be performed.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be able to utilize Marketplace systems for purchasing processing.
- Prioritize work, resolve routine conflicts and issues, and assist with special projects as assigned.
- Ability to follow established work schedule and procedures.
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Equipment Utilized
- Hand trucks, pallet jacks, Pitney Bowes Software, Poster Printer.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to lift 40lbs.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.
