Directly responsible and accountable for project management oversight of large technology driven projects, initiated and sponsored by the IS department. Manages strategies and change management activities, advances conceptual designs, completes business assessments, assists in the development of project budgets, and develops, manages, and integrates detailed project work plans. Ensures communication, coordination, and integration of project work with all areas affected including end users, information services, impacted vendors, and business unit leadership. Serves as a key liaison with the business leaders and executives in relationship to assigned program activities. Knowledge of healthcare delivery, project management, information technology, basic budgeting, and healthcare legislation at a level acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree with a technical discipline or equivalent experience. Master's degree or advanced technical degree preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required or obtained within one year of employment/effective date of transfer/promotion. Experience with recognized performance improvement and change management methodologies and strong technical background strongly preferred. Seven years of relevant work experience in technical program/project management, directing/managing complex projects and project teams, defining projects, collecting requirements, writing detailed function and test specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new features sets. Healthcare experience leading interdisciplinary projects that include various healthcare providers, hospital administrators, and information system professionals preferred. Experience with application implementation and operational systems and their interrelationships. Ability to understand relationships within systems and integrate processes. Strong communication and presentation skills to communicate with diverse groups and resolve conflicts appropriately. Demonstrated ability to adapt style and content of communication for technical and non-technical audiences. Analytical ability to assess situation, evaluate risks, and make recommendations as well as analyze situation/information and formulate a plan of action that is in line with business and financial constraints. Detailed in creation of supporting documentation and development of complex project plans, including critical work breakdown and key resources, risks and alternatives, supporting documentation and justification, and quality assurance procedures. Ability to display creativity and flexibility during all aspects and phases of the project and operate effectively at all levels of the organization including with customers and project teams. Ability to help system architects bring the right people to the table to appropriately design systems Knowledge of recognized improvement and change management methodologies preferred.
