Job Description:
R&D Altanova is looking for a Facilities Engineer at our Race Street, Allentown facility. You will primarily be responsible for planning factory projects, managing contractors, maintaining equipment, and performing routine maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute various projects with limited supervision.
- Perform assigned day-to-day repairs/improvements, emergency repairs, and preventive maintenance on production and support equipment.
- Become familiar with all production equipment and respond quickly to equipment issues.
- Respond quickly to emergency repair requests.
- Assist with production floor layout changes and coordinate associated services.
- Work with managers and supervisors to solve basic production support issues.
- Understand and follow 5S continuous improvement culture.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of basic computer systems including but not limited to: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field or Technical School Diploma Specific trade such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC with 10 years of industry experience.
- Must have excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with outside contractors.
- Must have some experience with HVAC, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, etc.
- Ability to read circuitry, wiring diagrams, schematics, and operations of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Must be highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work with good judgement.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must work well with others and be able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and demands.
- Physical capability of walking up and down stairs and ladders, working on your feet for hours at a time, and lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to operate a forklift and scissor lift.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Previous facilities maintenance experience preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
