Facilities Engineer

Georgia-Pacific has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Facilities Engineer to join our team at our Toledo containerboard paper mill in Toledo, OR. This is an exciting opportunity to own structural assessment and validation for all capital projects and maintenance activities at this large fully-integrated production operations.

Our Team

This role is part of the engineering department at the Toledo mill and would be the primarily onsite subject matter expert on structural issues and capital projects impacting non-production related equipment and structures. Toledo is located in coastal Oregon, 10 minutes from the beach town of Newport, Oregon and roughly 45 minutes from Corvallis, OR (home of Oregon State University).

What You Will Do

• Leading the development and execution of capital and major maintenance projects based on management direction and departmental input
• Assess and design basic building and structural components for a fully integrated manufacturing facility (i.e. fit for service calculations, floor and structural loading, lifting structures design)
• Developing accurate investment proposals for capital and major maintenance ventures
• Developing and managing the project scope, schedule, estimate, and risk management plan
• Working with internal customers to develop opportunities to improve competitive position
• Managing projects requiring coordination between outside consultants, contractors, and mill personnel
• Act as SME for mill projects involving civil and structural design and construction

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field of study
• Three or more years of experience as a Civil/Structural design engineer, project engineer, or project manager
• Project management experience in an industrial environment

What Will Put You Ahead

• P.E. license
• Five or more years of experience as a Civil/Structural design engineer, project engineer, or project manager
• Experience with developing accurate investment proposals for capital and major maintenance ventures
