The Jacobs JETS II contract seeks to fill a, Exploration Science Lab Manager position in the NASA Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science (ARES) Division, as part of the Jacobs Science and Exploration Department (SED). This position will be onsite at Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain ARES Lab Manager responsibilities, which include: lab documentation, safety requirements, users training, lab cleanliness and inventory, supply purchasing, and related tasks.
- Provide services for planetary science objectives into various test events at NASA facilities (on and off site) relevant to human and robotic exploration missions
- Work with various teams of scientists, engineers, and other professionals in Exploration Science Labs, test facilities, and in the field, in a highly dynamic and occasionally time-critical environment.
- Support logistics, planning, and execution for science mission operations and test events at onsite and field locations. The role will require occasional travel.
- Coordinate across ARES laboratories which may include: Image Science Analysis Lab (ISAL), Simulant Development Lab (SDL), Field Equipment for Exploration Training & Testing (FEETT) Lab, Advanced Concepts for Exploration (ACE) Lab and other XI4 facilities.
- Procures & distributes supplies and consumables from local vendors, purchase ordered goods, government equipment, and work-related materials with both the Jacobs and NASA.
- Oversight and coordination of XI4 storage operations, both locally and remote facilities.
- Contractor property management, inventories, tracking, disposition, repairs, and audits of government equipment.
- Provides consultation, planning, and acquisition of equipment including delivery and placement in laboratories, office spaces, and facilities.
- Manages & facilitates overnight shipping and/or delivery of critical goods and services both domestically and international.
- Ensures supplies and workflow of resources between the point of origin and the point of use.
- Transport setup, and breakdown of equipment for testing campaigns and training events.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requisition Qualifications:

- Typically requires a HS diploma and 5 years of experience or BS in Engineering Technology or related field.
- Prior experience working at NASA.

- Typically requires a HS diploma and 10 years of experience or BS in Engineering Technology or related field and 5 years of experience.

Work Environment
