Department Overview
Gas Operations oversees the natural gas transmission and distribution operations. The team maintains and operates 6,700 miles of gas transmission pipeline, 43,000 miles of distribution main, 3.6 million gas services, three PG&E-owned storage facilities with 102 BCF capacity, nine compressor stations with 175K HP, and 5,000 measurement and control facilities. Gas Operations is comprised of approximately 6,000 coworkers.
Position Summary
Develops communication strategies and disseminates internal and external communications with the goal of preserving and strengthening the reputation and credibility of various operational excellence programs with various stakeholders. Researches and writes content for internal and external audiences by providing information on programs, policies, projects and other efforts impacting operational excellence. Supports other communications efforts providing ideas, edits and formatting to support communications strategies.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $114,000
Bay Area Maximum: $182,000
Job Responsibilities
- Strategic communications planning including development and implementation of comprehensive communication strategies that align with operational excellence goals and objectives.
- Builds relationships with stakeholders across the enterprise, provides strategic counsel and ensures communication alignment with department goals.
- Designs, writes, edits and distributes high-quality communications content for use or distribution in a wide variety of media, contexts, channels and audiences.
- Defines and use communications measures and metrics to monitor performance objectives.
- Demonstrates broad expertise and understanding of fundamental communications concepts.
- Identifies and understands industry best practices and incorporates leanings into communications strategies and plans.
- Manages and leads complex communications initiatives and projects and takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
- Manages communication programs, including project plans, timelines and milestones, communication documents and other collateral materials.
- May manage cross-functional projects or initiatives
- May supervise 1-2 employees
- Works with operational excellence leaders to influence decisions on internal and external communications
- Ensures brand consistency across all communications channels and materials.
- Conducts research to understand the target audience and provides insights to tailor communication strategies effectively.
- Enhances operational excellence communication efforts to ensure coworkers are informed and engaged.
- Develops internal newsletters, bulletins and presentations.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- Job-related experience, 6 years
- CA Class C License, or equivalent
Desired:
- Masters Degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to present complex initiatives/projects and findings to internal and external stakeholders and to leadership across PG&E.
- Ability to solicit and integrate information from a variety of sources
