RCS is currently seeking a Communications Specialist to support our mission as a multitalented professional, competent in service-based organizations, possesses excellent writing and interpersonal skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has the ability to manage time and tasks with integrity. The appropriate candidate will possess strong design and editing abilities, adapt quickly to changing priorities, effectively manage multiple projects, and demonstrate clear and concise communications while collaborating with others to achieve shared goals.
Key duties for this role include:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere), Final Cut Pro, and Microsoft Office 365 platforms.
- Exhibit flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. This includes having the ability to hear constructive feedback and apply it to new ideas and concepts.
- Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy, in collaboration with the Supervisor, inclusive of outreach, content creation, and campaigns, with a focus on increasing community engagement while adhering to the agency's style guide and maintaining high standards for error-free copy.
- Regularly conduct research, writing, and promotional graphics/videos for press releases, agency "Town Hall" video broadcasts, agency website, newsletters, and quarterly/annual reports. The successful candidate will also need to acquire and maintain a detailed understanding of the agency's policies, culture/principles, and strategies.
- Responsible for coordinating internal and external events, recruitment efforts, and both online and traditional fundraising campaigns. Collaboration with key internal staff to generate content ideas aligned with the agency's strategy and brand initiatives is also expected.
- Support and evaluate analytics and results of communications efforts and actively participate in committees and team meetings as requested
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CA Driver's License, Current Auto Insurance, Clean DMV Printout (no more than 3 points on your record), clear background check w/ DOJ, CACI, FBI. CPR and First Aid Certified. TB Test and Physical at the time of employment.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position may work within ALL other agency programs, consistent with their scope of practice, on a as needed basis. In addition, may require an occasional flexible work schedule to meet the individualized needs of each client.
