Experienced Veterinary Assistant

River Valley Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team! This is a great opportunity for a highly skilled Veterinary Assistant looking to utilize and grow their skill set! We are looking for a strong team player, able to take direction and delegate tasks as needed.

This is a full-time position and will require regular rotating Saturday coverage.

We’re looking for:

• Veterinary background with 3+ years of current, relevant experience preferred
• Team player with a “go-getter” mentality
• An ability to multitask and take a leadership role
• Prior experience with small animals (large animal a plus!)
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal error
• Desire to uphold and build relationships with the local community
• Willingness to jump in where needed (answering phones, kennels, cleaning, etc.)
• Working knowledge of IDEXX Neo is a plus, but not required

Primary skills and responsibilities:

• Assisting the team by modeling leadership behavior
• Multitasking and taking charge of organizing the day
• Assisting in surgery and with anesthesia monitoring
• Performing phlebotomy and IVC placement
• Medication administration
• Gentle patient restraint
• Pharmacy duties
• Outpatient procedures
• General hospital cleaning
• Client service and communication
• Assisting the front desk as needed

Full-time benefits:
