Veterinary Assistant

Arkansas Veterinary Clinic, located in the heart of Fort Smith, is searching for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team! Individuals with strong customer service skills and a commitment to the veterinary field are encouraged to apply!

This is a full-time position with one Saturday per month required.

The ideal candidate:

• Loves dogs and cats
• High energy team players
• Great attention to detail
• Excellent communication and multi-tasking abilities
• Enjoys connecting with clients as well as the team
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and/or AVImark is a plus
• Prior animal care and/or veterinary experience is a plus

Primary responsibilities:

• Taking patient histories
• Assisting in exams
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Injection and medication administration
• Gentle patient restraint
• Pharmacy duties
• Blood draws
• IVC placement
• Outpatient procedures
• General hospital cleaning
• Client service and communication
• Assisting the front desk as needed

Full-time benefits:

• Compensation: $15.00 - $18.00/hour (based on experience)
