We are looking for an experienced Probate/Guardianship Attorney.
This is a HYBRID position. In-office preferred. Could be partially remote with demonstrated teamwork/leadership skills can be considered.
Responsibilities:
- You MUST be able to manage your cases from beginning to end.
- Must be able to delegate to and supervise the work of paralegals and assistants.
- Review and edit drafts of probate documents for formal administrations, guardianships and conservatorships.
- Draft substantive complaints, motions, oppositions, correspondence and other pleadings for contested matters.
- Draft and respond to interrogatories, subpoenas and document requests.
- Attend meetings and court hearings.
- This is a client-facing position.
- You will be dealing directly with clients and responsible for communicating with other counsel.
Responsibilities:
- Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
- Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
- Collaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently
- Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Probate, Guardianship, and Adversarial Probate experience or enough to be COMPETENT, CONFIDENT, and mostly AUTONOMOUS in this role
- You must be able to take a file from start to finish on your own
- Must be a member of The Florida Bar
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- This is a full-time position with a base salary + quarterly performance bonuses
- Candidates must have passed the bar exam
- Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
- Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
- Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA)
- Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
