The "new" South Shore Harbour Country Club hiring a working Executive Chef to lead our Culinary team providing service for a Chef driven upscale casual Member Dining restaurant, various Member events and Private events/banquets.
Our Executive Chef, as the face of our culinary operation, should be a creative and quality driven individual with an eye for detail, a passion for great food, a good communicator with a team-centric attitude, and someone that enjoys the challenges and rewards of working in an ever changing Private Club environment.
We are looking for and individual with a proven track record in a "from scratch" operation, strong Menu development skills, proven skills in event production/execution and with a desire to create and operate a Chef driven restaurant with a reputation for excellence.
.Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing unique and cuisine-appropriate menus
- Collaborating with the Restaurant Manager to set item prices
- Staying current on developing trends in the restaurant industry
- Ensures excellence in Member/guest satisfaction through commitment to a "Do Whatever It Takes Attitude" and a hands-on, lead by example management style
- Maintaining the kitchen and surrounding areas in conditions that meet the company standards and health code regulations
- Monitoring inventory and purchasing supplies and food from approved vendors
- Hiring, training and supervising kitchen staff
- Assisting and directing kitchen staff in meal preparation, creation, plating and delivery
- Identifying and introducing new culinary techniques
- Preparing meals and completing prep support as needed
Qualifications
- 5 years of Culinary management experience, with at least 2 years as an Executive Chef in a full-service dining establishment
- Strong knowledge and attention to detail on back of the house operations including staff supervision, inventory controls and food/labor cost, and product quality
- Strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
- Stable and progressive work history; Strong work ethic
- Excellent recommendations
