Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa is looking for a passionate and industrious individual to join our team as Executive Director of Board Affairs. As an employee of Palmer, you will join a team of employees who support the first and largest chiropractic school in the world.
In this role, you will work closely with the Palmer Board of Trustees – a small group of dynamic practitioners, business professionals and educators. This group of high-functioning leaders allows Palmer to carry out its mission: To promote learning, deliver health care, engage our communities, and advance knowledge through research.
This position works closely with the Chair of the Board and respective Committee Chairs to establish Board needs, content, and other materials. The Executive Director works closely with the Chancellor and CEO of the college to facilitate board meetings and activities. This position is also responsible for managing the Board of Trustee’s budget, web content records, and documents as well as facilitating board meetings, activities, and annual assessments.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment to solve problems. Other qualifications include:
- Associate’s degree in business administration or related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred, with seven to 10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to work independently and establish priorities and coordinate work activities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with all Board and College affairs
- Highly detail oriented with ability to analyze and resolve difficult problems
- Ability to work various hours and travel as needed
