Job description

Our expanding company is looking for an Executive Director for an Assisted Living Facility.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Executive Director is responsible for all phases of daily operations of the community, including implementation of policies and procedures and local and state regulatory compliance. The Executive Director’s responsibility includes fiscal management, associate management, property maintenance, and customer relations.

Position Specifics:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field (management, social work, business, health care administration, etc.).

Experience: Minimum 5 years successful tenure as The administrator of assisted living or skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare organization; proficient computer use (MS Office Suite); effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to involve others in the decision making process while maintaining responsibility for all decisions; ability to perform basic accounting and bookkeeping transactions; ability to work with superiors and within the parameters of corporate policy and procedure; possess knowledge of political and governmental structures and systems as they relate to the assisted living industry.

Licensing/Certification: Possess required State licensing/certification, or obtain within 60 days of hire date; Basic First Aid and CPR within 60 days from date of hire. Obtain Dementia Certification within 60 days from date of hire.

Working Environment / Physical Duties:

· General office environment primarily.

· Assisted living community common areas and apartments secondarily.

· Demonstrate compliance to the Safe Operations Program through appropriate attitude, awareness, and actions.

· Requires extensive use of arm, hands, fingers.

· Frequently sit for extended periods of time, reach with arms & hands, stand, walk, stoop, talk and hear.

· Frequently stand or walk for 0-3 hours at one time throughout an 8-hour day.

· Occasionally sit for 0-2 hours at one time throughout an 8-hour day.

· Frequently lift and/or carry 0-10 lbs. up to 30 yards.

· Occasionally lift and/or carry 15+ lbs. up to 30 yards.

· May be required to support/assist a resident’s full body weight.

· May be required to perform tasks in the Marketing, Dining Services, Resident Engagement, Maintenance and/or Wellness departments.

Essential Job Functions:

· Hire and schedule all department managers within budgetary guidelines and with consultation of the operations support team.

· Provide supervision, training, performance review and progressive counseling as needed for department managers with consultation of the operations support team.

· Facilitate the transition of a resident to another facility when services are no longer adequate to meet the needs of the resident.

· Ensure the parameters of Resident Rights are maintained at all times.

· Actively participate in the execution of marketing objectives to include conducting community tours to prospective residents and professional contacts, development of promotional programs, creation and placement of print advertising, and completion of all reports.

· Perform public relations to include participating in civic and social service organizations, performing community outreach, and coordinating community events.

· Develop, implement, and maintain all budget provisions with involvement from each department manager and approval by the CERTUS Support Team.

· Provide corporate office with all financial reports in a timely and accurate manner.

Daily Operations:

· Ensure that all associates receive appropriate orientation and training upon hire and are supervised daily in a professional, dignified and fair manner.

· Ensure all associates understand and adhere to company policies and procedures; conduct in-service programs as needed.

· Maintain compliance to all local, state and federal regulatory guidelines.

· Serve as liaison between community and contracted ASO or PEO vendor for human resource, payroll, benefit and worker’s compensation matters.

· Maintain appropriate supervision in all departments by approving work and vacation schedules for all management associates.

· Develop a climate of trust, respect, enthusiasm, cooperation, and fair treatment.

· Assist department managers in hiring, training, performance review, and progressive counseling tasks with their line associates.

· Maintain all personnel files in a confidential, organized manner to include evidence of completion of all required trainings, certifications, etc.

Customer Relations:

· Relate to residents, family members and responsible parties in a courteous, understanding and cooperative manner.

· Ensure Resident Council meetings are held regularly.

Financial Management:

· Implement adjustments to the budget to accommodate forecasted revenues and expenditures that fall outside of budget parameters.

· Supervise the Business Office Director to ensure accurate financial records including, but not limited to, rent receipts, petty cash, miscellaneous income, and expenditures are maintained.

· Authorize expenditures under $500.00 and oversee appropriate allocation to the General Ledger code.

· Pursue cost effective purchases by auditing no less than annually the quality, pricing, and service of currently contracted vendors as compared to competing vendors.

CERTUS Branding:

· Promote understanding of the CERTUS Mission statement among community associates, current residents/family members, and external community contacts.

· Maintain the company’s reputation for integrity and standing behind its services.

Emergency Management:

· Report to work and respond to the residents’ needs when the community is experiencing any situation deemed as an “Emergency” or “Natural Disaster” by CERTUS and/or local authorities. Response will include, but not be limited to, reporting for assigned shifts, receiving evacuees from another community, or evacuating with our community’s residents.
