Job Title: Executive Director - River Arts District Artist Foundation Non-Profit

Organization Overview: The RADA Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is dedicated to fostering a vibrant and sustainable arts community by financially supporting the River Arts District Artists (RADA) organization in Asheville, North Carolina. The RADA organization supports local artists, promotes cultural engagement, and works towards the revitalization of the River Arts District.
Job Summary: The Executive Director will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission and goals of the RADA Foundation and RADA. This part-time position requires a dynamic and passionate leader able to develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy through community engagement, fiscal partnerships, networking, and grant writing.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support RADA and the ongoing operations of the RADA Foundation.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, government entities, and community organizations.
Fundraising:
- Implement effective fundraising strategies to support the RADA mission and maintain the fiscal viability of the RADA Foundation.
- Develop sustainable, recurring fiscal partnerships with local and regional businesses.
- Identify and pursue grant opportunities to secure funding for RADA’s programs and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with funders, donors, and sponsors.
- Seek opportunities to diversify revenue streams and reduce organizational dependence on specific funding sources.
Program Management:
- Assist RADA President and Marketing team with strategic projects.
Financial Management:
- Work with the RADA Foundation Treasurer to ensure fiscal responsibility and transparency.
- Work closely with the RADA Foundation Board of Directors to provide regular financial updates and reports.
Community Engagement:
- Act as a liaison between the organization and the community, fostering positive relationships.
- Represent the RADA Foundation at community events, meetings, and forums.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (non-profit management, arts administration, business, etc.).
- Proven experience in non-profit leadership, preferably in the arts sector.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in grant writing and securing funding from various sources.
- Demonstrated success in acquiring financial donations from sponsors.
- Experience in program development and implementation.
- Financial management skills, including budgeting and financial reporting.
- Passion for, and understanding of, the arts and the local community.
Compensation:
There are currently no paid benefits for this position. This is a contracted position, thus no State, Federal or Social Security taxes are withheld by RADA. The coordinator will be provided with a 1099-Misc form in January each year for filing taxes.
It is anticipated that the contract will begin as 15-20 hours per week at $22-25 per hour. The position can expand in hours and/or contracted pay rate based on achievement of fundraising goals.
