Purpose
The WARM NC Executive Director helps develop the vision, leads efforts to execute the mission, and evaluates the performance of the organization. The Executive Director also serves as official spokesperson and builds meaningful relationships with current and prospective supporters and partners. The position is full-time, salaried, requiring at least 40 hours per week, and occasional nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
- Provide visionary leadership to ensure the organization’s mission and goals are consistently advanced.
- Builds, develops, and leads a cohesive leadership team.
- Supervise and support the staff, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Ensure efficient and effective program delivery, monitoring, and evaluating outcomes.
- Represent WARM to all external stakeholders, building and maintaining strong relationships with partners, donors, media, and the community.
- Serve as lead spokesperson for the organization, promoting its mission and values.
- Oversee the development and execution of the annual budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to provide regular updates, seek input, ensure adequate resources, and collaborate on strategic initiatives.
- Support the Board in governance and policy-making activities, including managing risk to the organization.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in social services, business management, or related field.
- 5+ years of leadership experience, non-profit preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in social services, business management, or a related field.
- Experience in not-for-profit administration, volunteer management, and donor cultivation.
- Proven track record of successful fundraising and financial management.
- Strong strategic planning and organizational development skills.
- Flourishes in an environment that embraces diversity and fosters inclusivity.
- Outstanding intrapersonal and communication skills; written, oral, and presentation.
- Proven ability to build coalitions and meaningful partnerships.
- Track record of leading change and growth with an emphasis on sustainability.
- Basic understanding of home repair, budgeting, planning and affordable housing policies and issues. Hands on construction or construction management experience is helpful, but not required.
- Proficiency with various technological systems, including MS Office suite.
- Patience, flexibility, resilience, integrity, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence.

Founded in 1996, we have been serving low-income homeowners in Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, New Hanover, Onslow, and Pender counties, many of whom are elderly, disabled, and/or veterans. Our mission is to repair, rebuild, and make homes accessible; and to inspire service, generosity, and hope.
